2015 THPO/SHPO Summit
On December 2-3, 2015, California Tribal Historic Preservation Officers (THPOs) and the California State Historic Preservation Officer (SHPO) convened a THPO/SHPO Summit in Shingle Springs, El Dorado County. The Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians generously hosted more than sixty attendees from throughout the state to discuss issues related to tribal historic preservation concerns. This year the focus was on disaster response and preparedeness with a view to the recent increased intensity of wildfires and other environmental issues related to climate change. Presentations also were given on AB52 and the CEQA process, CHRIS Tribal Access Policy, Canine Forensics, and ACHP Updates, among others. Below are materials from some of the presentations.
