K-9 Rex and Handler Alexandra Lucero

K-9 Rex and State Park Peace Officer (Ranger) Lucero are a K-9 team from Folsom Lake State Recreation Area. K-9 Rex is a sable German Shepherd born in California on Aug. 17, 2018. He is a patrol K-9 trained to find and apprehend uncooperative suspects while protecting his handler, other officers and the public. He is also certified in narcotics, tracking and evidence recovery. When K-9 Rex isn't working at Folsom Lake, he enjoys exploring other California State Parks and playing “keep away” with his toys in the backyard.
