K-9 Torq and Handler Aaron Hoff

K-9 Torq is a sable-colored German Shepherd born in the Czech Republic on Aug. 15, 2016. Torq and State Park Peace Officer (Lifeguard) Hoff are assigned to Bolsa Chica State Beach and Huntington State Beach. Torq is a patrol K-9 trained to find and apprehend uncooperative suspects while protecting his handler, other officers and the public. He is also certified in explosives detection, tracking and evidence recovery. When off duty, Torq lives with Officer Hoff and enjoys playing with his adopted younger sister, Blizza.
