Guided Field Trips (K-12)

Fourth Grade Fridays

Guided field trips for 4th graders* are offered every Friday during the regular school year, September through May. Students will have the opportunity to take a ride aboard our tour-style pontoon boat and set out in search of birds and see the park from a new vantage point. Bald Eagles are prevalent in the wintertime and may even visit nesting sites. On land, students will rotate between one or two stations exploring animal adaptation through a skull study with museum-grade skull replicas or explore the concept of weathering and erosion through our experiential stream tables.

Field trips last between 1.5 – 3 hours depending on group size. Each tour is strictly limited to groups of up to 75 people, including all students, teachers, and chaperones.

Field trips are free to all schools. Schools must complete a School Group Reservation Request form (DPR124) at least 15 days in advance prior to the scheduled field trip date.

For more information and scheduling a field trip for your class, please contact Eduardo Gonzalez at Eduardo.gonzalez@parks.ca.gov

* Other grade levels may be considered upon request. Homeschool groups may be considered based on availability and group size.
