Join us in this free introduction to paddle sports. The Paddle Sports program offers families and youth an opportunity to try both stand-up paddle boarding and kayaking, in a safe learning environment. Participants of the program will receive instruction on basic paddling technique, proper handling, and transport of equipment, kneeling and standing positions on SUP, mounting, and remounting from deep water. The Paddle Sports Program seeks to educate participants on water safety including proper lifejacket selection, fit, and application, hand and paddle signals, and increase overall comfort while recreating on a paddle vessel. Materials will be provided to participants on understanding life jacket labels and float plan templates for their reference in planning water activities on their own.

All equipment including vessels, paddles, PFDs, whistles, and leashes will be provided to participants for the duration of the program. A facilitator and two State Park lifeguards will be present for every program.

Participation in this program is free with registration. Day-Use (parking fee) $10 per vehicle is required.

Whether you're looking for a fun-filled family activity, a unique date idea, looking to try something new, or simply want to enjoy the outdoors, this event promises an unforgettable experience. So, grab your friends and family and get ready to paddle your way to adventure!
