POSTED ORDERS

PER THE PUBLIC RESOURCES CODE, EACH STATE PARK MAY ENACT SPECIAL LAWS (POSTED ORDERS) TO ENSURE VISITOR SAFETY AND PARK PROTECTION. BELOW IS A SUMMARY OF POSTED ORDERS PERTAINING TO SILVERWOOD LAKE SRA.  A COPY OF THE FULL TEXT IS AVAILABE AT THE FRONT ENTRANCE KIOSK, PARK OFFICE, AND CAN BE EMAILED UPON REQUEST.  FOR ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS OR TO REQUEST A COPY OF THE FULL TEXT, CONTACT THE PARK OFFICE.  VISITORS IN VIOLATION OF THE PARK'S POSTED ORDERS ARE SUBJECT TO CITATION (CCR T14 4326).
  1. 953-23-001 – Fishing is prohibited in the following areas
    • Any designated swim area
    • From a vessel within the area designated as the marina
    • From any launch ramp, courtesy dock, or from a boat moored to the courtesy doc.
  2. 953-23-002 – No juvenile shall enter or remain at Silverwood Lake SRA between the hours of 8PM and 8AM except
    • One who is accompanied by a parent or guardian
    • One who is part of a group permitted to occupy a unit of Silverwood Lake where there is one responsible adult for every 15 juveniles
    • One who is lawfully camping and furnishes written consent of and full name, residence address, and telephone number of the juvenile’s parent or guardian.
  3. 953-23-003 – Swimming is restricted to posted swim areas at Sawpit and Cleghorn beaches
  4. 953-23-001 – Parking in the Sawpit Boat Lot is restricted to vehicles displaying proof of payment of State Park Boat Fees when posted.
  5. 953-23-005 – A maximum of three vehicles (including towed vehicle) are and 8 persons are allowed to occupy a family campsite
  6. 953-23-006 – Silverwood Lake SRA Day Use is closed to motorized vehicle entry during the following hours.
    • From 9:00 PM – 6:00 AM, April 1 – September 30
    • From 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, October 1 – March 31
    • Miller Canyon:  From 8:00 PM – 7:00 AM, April 1 – September 30
    • Miller Canyon is closed October 1 – March 31
  7. 953-23-007 – Scuba Diving is prohibited at Silverwood Lake SRA
  8. 953-23-008 – The waters of Silverwood Lake SRA are restricted to vessels in the following manner:
    • Vessel hours are 6:00 AM – Sunset, April 1 – September 31
    • Vessel hours are 7:00 AM – Sunset, October 1 – March 31
    • Motorized vessels must launch at the Sawpit Launch Ramp only
  9. 953-23-009 – Charcoal and wood fires are prohibited except in park provided fire rings in the campground or park provided charcoal grills located throughout the park. 
  10. 953-23-010 – Silverwood Boating Rules are as follows
    • The maximum speed on the lake is 35mph
    • 5mph is the maximum speed within buoy lines, before sunrise or after sunset, during restricted visibility
    • Water skiing, wake boarding, inflatables and all other towable aqua planes may only be towed behind a vessel in the open zone at the north end of the lake.  No towing in the channel.
    • All vessels must travel in a counterclockwise direction in the open zone at the north end of the lake
    • No vessels shall enter buoyed swim areas
    • Submersible vessels are not allowed
    • Vessels shall not operate if the lake has met maximum capacity.
    • Vessels with less than 6 inches of freeboard may not operate in gale warning conditions (wind 39mph +)
    • No vessel shall operate in full gale wind conditions (55mph +)
  11. 953-23-011 – Other Power Driven Mobility Devices (OPDMD) may be utilized on walkways, paths, and day use areas.  *See full text or contact the park regarding requirements for OPDMDs.
  12. 953-23-012 – Maximum consecutive occupancy limits for all campgrounds at Silverwood Lake SRA are as follows:
    • April 1 – September 30:  14 consecutive nights
    • October 1 – March 31:  30 consecutive nights
  13. 953-23-013 – The consumption of alcoholic beverages is prohibited in all Day Use areas.  *Does not pertain to registered campers in designated campsites.
  14. 953-23-014 – Inflatable floats, boats, pool toys, tubes, rafts, loungers and kayaks are prohibited.  *Does not pertain to kayaks, inflatable boats, paddle boards or float tubes outside the swim area.
  15. 950-23-001 – Dreissenid Mussels
    • No vessel shall launch that has not been inspected for dreissenid mussels or have a properly attached inspection re-entry seal.
    • No vessel shall attempt to launch which has failed inspection and/or is subject to a dry-out period.
    • No person shall tamper with an inspection seal
  16. 950-23-002 – Drones are not permitted without a special use permit
  17. 950-23-003 – Electronic Bicycle Use
    • Class 1, 2, and 3 E-bikes are permitted on all roads within Silverwood Lake SRA that allow vehicle traffic.
    • Class 1 bicycles only are permitted on trails within Silverwood Lake SRA designated for use as bicycle trails.
