Registration

Registration for Junior Guards will be through Reserve CA. 

  • Registration for Junior Guards Sessions is on a first come first served basis. If you are a new participant, you do not need to wait until after completing the swim test. (If you do not pass the swim test, you will be refunded in full). 
  • Registration for the Grom Program is based on tryout results, NOT a first come first served basis. After tryouts are held, those that passed the tryout will be able to register. 
  • Limited space is available for both regular JG sessions and Grom Sessions. Mark your calendars for registration opening day for the session you wish to enroll in (JG or Grom). 
  • If you need to cancel a registration, please email sssbjg@parks.ca.gov. We will process the cancellation request. The following information is helpful to expedite the cancellation: Reserve CA Head of Household Name, Dependent (child) Name, Session registered for. 

If you have an account with Reserve CA and your child is a returning JG, you can click on the session links below to continue directly to registration.

For NEW participants, please review these steps to help you with the registration process:

Step 1:  Login or create a new account by selecting the LOGIN or CREATE ACCOUNT button on the top menu.

Step 2:  Once logged in, navigate to YOUR ACCOUNT on the top menu. A drop down menu will display. Select YOUR DEPENDENTS.

Step 3: A page titled PERSONS should appear. There will be a button that says ADD PERSON. Click on this to launch the ADD NEW PERSON page.

Step 4: On the ADD NEW PERSON page, populate the following fields with the information about the dependent you are adding. 

  • A DEPENDENT is the person (child) who will be registered for Junior Guards. 
    • First Name
    • Last Name
    • Date of Birth - This is necessary for Reserve CA to validate that your dependent meets the age requirements for enrollment. 
    • Relationship - Use drop down to select "Child"

Step 5: Once you are done entering the above information, select ADD DEPENDENT and then you will then be brought to the previous page, and your new dependent should be listed. You can continue to add Dependents to your account or proceed to enrolling your dependent in a Junior Lifeguard program. 

* If you choose to search directly on the Reserve CA website for a Junior Guard session you will need to select a specific date in the search bar to find the desired session.

 Refund Policy

  • If a participant fails to pass the swim test, a full refund will be issued.
  • If a participant must cancel for any reason prior to 7 calendar days of the start date of the training a $50.00 cancellation fee will apply.
  • If a participant must drop out of the training for any reason within 7 calendar days after the training has started a 50% refund will be issued.
  • If a participant must drop out of the training after 7 calendar days of the start date of the training no refund will be issued.
  • If a participant is injured while participating in the training a pro-rated refund will be issued based on the number of days that were started.
  • No refund will be issued to any participant that is suspended or expelled from training for disciplinary reasons.
  • There is no refund for uniform items.
