Anza-Borrego Desert SP General Plan and Cultural Preserves

Anza Borrego Desert SPApproved by the State Parks Commission on February 11, 2005, the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park General Plan was put into its final form and is located below (by document sections).

As is the case with the following document, general plans create a framework which guides day-to-day decision-making within the Park.  Further, general plans provide a basis for developing focused management plans, specific project plans, and other proposals which implement the general plan’s goals. However, General Plans stop short of defining specific measures and/or timeframes for fulfilling these goals.

Seven New Cultural Preserves Receive Unanimous Approval

The California State Park and Recreation Commission unanimously approved the sub-classification of the seven cultural preserves in Anza Borrego Desert State Park (ABDSP) for their outstanding historic and cultural interest on December 10, 2010 in San Diego, California, at Old Town San Diego State Historic Park. The sub-classifications were recommended in the 2005 ABDSP General Plan.
