Overview

The name "olompali" comes from the Miwok language and may be translated as "southern village" or "southern people." The Coast Miwok inhabited at least one site within the area of the present-day park continuously from as early as 6,000 BC, until the early 1850s. Exhibits/Programs

The visitor center, which includes exhibits on the history of the park, is accessible. Three paved accessible parking stalls are available in the parking lot. Route to the visitor, composed of compacted aggregate, is accessible. Accessible restrooms are available inside the visitor center when it is open. Additionally, an accessible chemical toilet is available just off the parking lot adjacent to the park service road. Route to the chemical toilet is generally accessible. Some visitors may need assistance where the parking lot transitions to compacted aggregate.
