The reporting location for this position is the sector office located at the San Luis Reservoir State Recreation Area in Gustine, California. This position will work under the direction of the State Park Peace Officer Supervisor (SPPO Supervisor).  

The State Park Interpreter position is responsible for working closely with all the staff in the sector to accomplish the tasks necessary to operate, protect, interpret, and maintain the park units to the highest quality standards.  Park units in Four Rivers Sector include, Pacheco SP, San Luis Reservoir SRA, Great Valley Grasslands SP, Caswell Memorial SP, George Hatfield SRA and McConnell SRA. Assigned duties include interpretive program management (outreach, social media, guided walks), volunteer coordination, school group coordination, planning, research and development of interpretive projects and programs for the park. The position may serve as a lead for seasonal aides, interns and volunteers.

This position requires a valid Class C Driver’s license.
Training and Development Assignments may be considered.
This position may work up to 1500 hours per year/in a 12 consecutive month period.
