As the first California State Park established in an urban setting, Candlestick Point State Recreation Area has a deep history that deserves to be explored, preserved, and shared. The Candlestick Point Oral History Project will capture the story of how and why this park came to be. The project will also explore the history of the Candlestick Point SRA landscape and community, its connection to racial and environmental justice, and how it has impacted people of the neighborhood.
