Regional Park Program Grant Award List - August 22, 2022

Contra Costa County

  • John Muir Land Trust will receive $2,000,000 to create the Pacheco Marsh recreational area in the City of Martinez by constructing new 140-acre tidal marsh open space, accessible kayak boat launches, picnic tables, trails, interpretive feature, restrooms and entry bridge, gate and signage and parking lot.

Fresno County

  • County of Fresno will receive $3,000,000 to improve Choinumni Regional Park in the Town of Piedra by renovating the campgrounds; constructing multi-use trail, a sports complex with low level lighting including basketball, volleyball, horseshoes, and cornhole; six cultural historical informational kiosks, two picnic areas with shelters and lighting, two playgrounds with low level lighting, walking loop, and restroom.

Kern County

  • County of Kern will receive $2,691,150 to improve Buena Vista Aquatic Recreational Area near the City of Bakersfield by constructing new multi-use trail, splash pad, shaded and lighted picnic pavilion, dog park, four floating docks, and erosion control measures.

Los Angeles County

  • Descanso Gardens Guild, Inc. will receive $3,000,000 to improve the Nature Discovery Zone, at Descanso Gardens, in the City of La Canada Flintridge, by constructing a new Nature Discovery Zone, multi-use trail, and restroom, and renovate an existing multi-use trail.

Marin County

  • Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy will receive $1,530,346 to improve Roy's Redwoods Open Space Preserve in Marin County by constructing a new redwood loop trail extension, old-growth trails, and a nature exploration area, and renovate the existing trailhead and the existing redwood loop trail.

Napa County

  • Napa County Regional Park and Open Space District will receive $1,168,219 to improve and expand Suscol Headwaters Park by acquiring approximately 5 acres for a trailhead, parking and access point, and constructing 14 miles of a new multi-use trail network.

Orange County

  • County of Orange will receive $1,175,896 to improve the Ted Craig Regional Park in the City of Fullerton by constructing a new 9.7-acre regional bike facility. Construct a new tot pump track, beginner pump track, intermediate riders pump track, multi-level bike skills track, multi-use cross country loop trail, beginner slopestyle trails, intermediate slopestyle trails, advanced slope style trails, beginner flow trail, intermediate flow trail, beginner dirt jump park, intermediate dirt jump park, advanced dirt jump park, multi-use creek loop trail, five shade structures, and landscaping throughout the regional bike facility.

San Benito County

  • County of San Benito will receive $2,400,000 to create the new Riverview Regional Park in the City of Hollister by constructing universal access trail and exercise stations, cross country course and markers, adventure playground, open lawn area and community garden, picnic area, RC car facility and geology exploration zone, pump track, sport court and pickleball complex and softball fields and disc golf.

City & County of San Francisco

  • City & County of San Francisco will receive $1,900,000 to improve Twin Peaks Open Space in the City of San Francisco by constructing a new promenade with a multi-use trail and renovate the access trail and two Bay Area Ridge Trail segments.

San Luis Obispo County

  • County of San Luis Obispo will receive $1,131,484 to improve Nipomo Park in the community of Nipomo by constructing a new skate park, BBQ and picnic seating area, parking lot with entry road, restrooms, sidewalks, and landscaping.

Santa Cruz County

  • Land Trust of Santa Cruz County will receive $320,000 to improve Antonelli Pond in the City of Santa Cruz by constructing a new ADA trail with picnic sites and interpretive signage, ADA fishing pier, two monarch plant gardens, and terraced bank with outdoor class seating and pond access.

Siskiyou County

  • Siskiyou Outdoor Recreation Alliance will receive $1,101,218 to improve the Mount Shasta Nordic Center near the City of Mount Shasta by constructing a new guest services lodge with lighting, 5.06 miles of trails, a double vault toilet, interpretive panels, and a maintenance area with two trailers.

Solano County

  • Play 4 All Park will receive $1,706,687 to expand Play 4 All Park in the City of Vacaville by acquiring 7.5 acres through land donation and construct a universally accessible park with two new Challenger baseball fields with lighting, multi-use recreational trail, dog park, parking lot and landscaping throughout the park.
