Camp Hosts

Half Moon Bay State Beach's Francis Beach Campground has 53 sites, two of which are camp host sites with full hook-ups. Most of our sites have electricity and are frequented by RV campers. We also have non-electric sites and a handful of tent-only sites in addition to three hike and bike sites. A separate dump and water station is available near the entrance to the campground. Our campground is busy year-round and often completely booked during the summer months, in addition to large numbers of day-use visitors to the beach. View a map of the campground.

Half Moon Bay State Beach is in the heart of Half Moon Bay. Be close to restaurants, grocery stores and other amenities while still having easy access to miles of coastline and the thousands of acres of open space found in the Bay Area.

We have two camp host assignments that share the duties of the position. Hosts are expected to work a minimum of 20 hours a week, including evenings and weekends. On-duty hours are generally from 4:30 to 9:30 pm. Hosts are responsible for checking in campers, selling sites, selling firewood, performing campground checks, closing entrance gates, and locking restrooms, among other varied duties. Hosts must commit to a four to six month stay.
