Help spread the word on how California is expanding outdoor access for all!
California State Parks will be providing $548.3 million in grant funding to more than 100 communities to deliver new parks and advance the Newsom Administration’s California Outdoors for All initiative to enable all Californians to access parks and open space. This is the single-largest investment in state history in expanding access to parks in underserved communities, with new or enhanced parks funded in every region of California.
Awarded through the Statewide Park Development and Community Revitalization Program, this competitive grant program creates new parks and new recreation opportunities in underserved communities across California.
Our California Outdoors for All toolkit features resources to spread awareness about the initiative and the importance of equal access to the outdoors. The toolkit includes items such as social media graphics and messages, photos of before/after previously funded projects by the Statewide Park Development and Community Revitalization Program, a press release and more.

- Your health counts! Spending time in the outdoors can help improve the physical, mental and social health of ALL Californians. Under the #CAOutdoorsforAll initiative, today California invested $548.3 million in grants to 100+ communities to expand all Californians’ access to parks, open space, nature and cultural amenities.
Cities such as Fresno, Hanford, Indio, Coachella, Cathedral City, Los Angeles, and Redding will be receiving approximately $8.5 million each to create new parks. Other examples include $8.48 million to the Big Sur Land Trust for the new Carr Lake Park in Salinas, $5 million to the City of Berkeley for the new Santa Fe Trackbed Park, and $7.1 million to the City of Chula Vista for the renovation of Eucalyptus Park.
