Getting Started

Login, Create New Account and Setting Up Your Dependents on ReserveCalifornia.com

Review these instructions to help you with the process;

Step 1: Login or create your NEW account by selecting the “LOGIN” or "CREATE ACCOUNT" button on the top menu.

Step 2: Once you are logged in, navigate to “YOUR ACCOUNT” on the top menu. A drop down will display. Select “YOUR DEPENDENTS”.

Step 3: A page titled “Persons” should appear. There will be a button that says “Add Person”. Click on this button to launch the “Add New Person” page.

Step 4: On the “Add New Person” page. Populate the following fields with information about the dependent you are setting up:

  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • Birthdate This is necessary for ReserveCalifornia.com to validate that your dependent meets the age requirements for enrollment
  • Relationship- Use drop down to select “Child”

Step 5: Once you are done entering the above information, select “Add Dependent” and you will then be brought to the previous page and your new dependent should be listed. You can continue to add dependents to your account or proceed to enrolling your dependent(s) in a Junior Lifeguard program.

Program Fees

TUITION

The program cost is $495 per child for our 4-week summer program with a $50 sibling discount for each additional child after the first, or $50 dual session discount for participants completing 2 or more summer sessions. To receive the sibling discount, you must enroll both child at the same time. If you enroll a second child later, email us at Folsomjrlifeguard@parks.ca.gov so we can process your sibling discount credit manually. If you are enrolled in 2 sessions, email us at Folsomjrlifeguard@parks.ca.gov and we will process your dual session discount manually as well. Tuition assistance is available, please email folsomjrlifeguard@parks.ca.gov for more information.

Refund Policy

  • If a participant fails to pass the swim test a full refund will be issued.
  • If a participant must cancel for any reason prior to 7 calendar days of the start date of the training, a $50.00 cancellation fee will apply to the refund.
  • If a participant must drop out of the training for any reason within 7 calendar days, before or after, the start date of the training a 50 % refund will be issued.
  • If a participant must drop out of the training after 7 calendars days of the start date of the training no refund will be issued. 
  • If a participant is injured while participating in the training a pro-rated refund will be issued based on the number of training days that were started
  • No refund will be issued to any participant that is suspended or expelled from training for disciplinary reasons. 

Tuition Assistance

The purpose of tuition assistance is to give households that are challenged by our fees the opportunity to participate in the Junior Lifeguard Program. The CA State Parks Junior Lifeguard Program follows the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) guidelines for issuance of tuition assistance. Please email the Junior Lifeguard Coordinator at folsomjrlifeguard@parks.ca.gov to get the necessary forms. All applications must be mailed in or dropped off to our Sector Office.
