Bikes are allowed on four “hike-and-bike” single-track trails below the park’s steel bridge: Aptos Rancho Trail, Split Stuff Trail, Terrace Trail and Vienna Woods Trail. Bikes are also allowed on Aptos Creek Road (the paved road to the entrance station) and Aptos Creek Fire Road (its dirt continuation to the upper reaches of the park). Bikes are not allowed on single-track hiking-only trails.
Starting at Porter picnic area, mountain bikers can ride 5.7 miles up the Aptos Creek Fire Road to Sand Point overlook, which provides one of the best views in Santa Cruz County. About 9 miles north of Porter picnic area on the Aptos Creek Fire Road, the 2,700-acre Soquel Demonstration State Forest offers advanced mountain bikers additional trails.
