An Old Fashioned Fourth of July
California State Parks invite you to celebrate an old fashioned Fourth of July at Old Town San Diego State Historic Park!
11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Visitors can join park staff and volunteers celebrating as early San Diego residents did in the 1800s with living history, historic games and contents, crafts, and live music from Billy Lee & the Swamp Critters. The day ends with a raffle of our community-made quilt!
Flag raising ceremony and dedicated begins at 11:15 a.m..
This event is FREE thanks to the support of the Boosters of Old Town San Diego. Some activities may require an additional purchase.
Parking is available at the CalTrans headquarters, just two blocks from the park located at 2994 Sunset Street.
Hidden History Talks
Join State Park Interpreters each week to experience untold stories of Old Town San Diego. These free, 15-minute-long talks at the porch of the Colorado House highlight the underrepresented histories and voices of California’s diverse communities including African-American, indigenous, women, and LGBTQIA+ history. Old Town San Diego State Historic Park’s Hidden History program seeks to tell a more complete history, relevant for all visitors today.
