Seasonal Employment on the beach

Work at your local Caifornia State Park beach as a lifeguard this summer.  Receive training in first aid, aquatic rescues, CPR, rock rescues, and much more.  Stay in shape while getting paid!

In Half Moon Bay, Seasonal Lifeguards are typically stationed at Montara Sate Beach, Francis State Beach (Kelly), and San Gregorio State Beach during weekends. These 'Tower Shifts' run between Memorial Day and Labor Day and are intended to ensure the safety of beach patrons by educating everyone about ocean hazards and making rescues when needed.

During the week, become an instructor for the local Half Moon Bay Junior Lifeguard Program to help educate future generations about aquatic safety and recreation. This is an oppurtunity to further your lifeguarding skills by teaching junior guards self rescue techniques.  

2024 Seasonal Lifeguard tryouts will be held at Dunes Beach in Half Moon Bay State Beach on Saturday March 23rd, at 9 am.
