Uniform Information

For a cohesive and safe experience, all Junior Lifeguard Program participants must wear the required uniform. This ensures easy monitoring by instructors and distinguishes them from non-Junior Lifeguard participants.

When/Where Can I Purchase JG Uniform items?

All participants are encouraged to purchase uniforms at any of the tryout dates (Listed in Tryout Information)

If you are unable to make the tryouts to purchase uniform items, we will hold other uniform sales at Lifeguard Headquarters (665 14th Ave Santa Cruz, CA 95062) on the following dates:

June 8, 9:00am - 2:00pm

July 6, 9:00am-2:00pm

Payable by personal check, Visa, Mastercard, and Discover credit cards. (Checks can be made out to "California State Parks")
Cash is not accepted

What's Required:  
Red long sleeve T-shirt with the Junior Lifeguard logo (included in registration fees)
Solid, navy or dark blue swimsuit*
Sandals

*Swimsuits are not sold by us.

What's Recommended:
Fins
Navy blue sweatpants,
Long/short sleeve rashguards
Red Junior Guard sweatshirt
Wetsuit (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED)

NOTE: Please mark ALL ITEMS, first and last name, with permanent marker

Swimsuits

Girls can wear either a one-piece or two-piece solid navy blue swimsuit. 
Boys can wear any solid navy blue swimsuits/swim trunks as a part of their uniform.
