The Catalyst

I had the honor of serving as guest editor of this edition, which focuses on Children in Nature. This newsletter is a tribute to the creative efforts and passionate commitment by California State Parks staff and others to ensure that future generations have a visceral connection to the land and understand the value of stewardship.

I want to thank all who contributed and provided their ideas and a special thanks to Monique Osborne, graduate student, who served as assistant editor. The newsletter has been sent to all who have requested it, and if you wish to be added to the mailing list, please contact Heather Holm at heather.holm@parks.ca.gov.

We want to continue to capture all the great programs and efforts by California State Parks to address this need. Please send me any information on events and/ or programs that provide opportunities for children to connect to the natural world, and if possible include high-resolution photos (and signed releases). Please check out the Department's Children in Nature Website (www.parks.ca.gov/cinc)  for ideas and resources for your use.
