CCC enrollee Raymond K. Tompins in 1933

CCC enrollee and forest brigadier Raymond K. Tompkins likes the feel of his new government issued shoes, as seen in this newspaper clipping from the San Francisco News (circa 1933). Tompkins worked as a CCC ambulance driver, serving Northern California CCC camps near Yreka.

Pictured at the top left,  Tompkins is issued a razor, toothbrush and comb at Fort Winfield Scott in San Francisco, California.  Pictured at top right, Northern California CCC rookies in their first drill.
