San Juan Bautista State Historic Park offers guided walking tours for groups of up to 25 people with advance reservations. Reservations must be made at least two weeks prior to the date. If a group has more than 25 people they must make a second reservation.

Tours are 1 to 1.5 hours and can be customized to meet the interests and needs of your group. Tours DO NOT include Mission San Juan Bautista.

Price of Tours

$7 per person for groups with 1-25 people

Tours are primarily outdoors, giving visitors an appreciation of the many cultures that crossed paths in early San Juan Bautista and California. Participants may learn about the Native Americans that inhabited and managed the land, the Spanish mission and Mexican rancho periods, and the arrival of the early Americans, leading to the twentieth century.

Tours can include:
-Mutsun culture pre and post-mission era
-Spanish colonization
-Mexican General José Castro
-American "surveyor" John Charles Fremont
-Italian immigrant and Hotel owner Angelo Zanetta
-Early San Juan Bautista: the crossroads of travelers
-The filming of Vertigo by Alfred Hitchcock

Tours of the state park are ideal for families, business groups, clubs, organizations, and history lovers of all ages.
Advanced reservations are available for any day except Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, or New Year's Day.
