California is blessed with mild climates, long coastlines, spectacular scenery, and highly diverse landscapes. Many famous movies have been filmed in California’s State Parks. Because of the great variety of trees, plants and flowers in many areas, our parks have “stood-in” for locations around the world.

Malibu Creek State Park has been the site of some notable entertainment projects include M*A*S*H, Roots, and How the West Was Won. " Hollywood has converted Malibu locales into Cape Cod, Tarzan's jungles, the Planet of the Apes and many more far flung sites as well as the expected Old West. Eleven films were filmed at or near Point Lobos State Reserve alone between 1946 and 1989.  Still fashion shoots for catalogues like Eddie Bauer and Neiman Marcus are common in State Parks. The Budweiser Clydesdales and Bengal tigers for Exxon have used state park units for filming commercials.

By using our system, you can be close to LA, while being strategically located far enough away from metropolitan areas. Discover the many states of the State Parks system including great deserts named Saddleback Butte, Antelope Valley and Providence Mountains. Ocean beaches, ghost towns, lakes, islands, rivers, historic structures, light houses, campgrounds, gold mines, stately mansions, remote and not so remote locations, and even a State Capitol or two are available for qualified motion pictures in California.
