Will Rogers Ranch Trail Rides

Will Rogers SHP now has Trail Rides throughout the park.

Horseback riding is now available at Will Rogers State Historic Park. Enjoy a guided horseback ride on the beautiful Will Rogers Loop Trail that leads to Inspiration Point, which provides a magnificent view of our local mountain ranges and the Santa Monica Bay. Rocking K Horse Rentals are available on Saturdays and Sundays from 8am to 4pm. (Approximately 1 hour, last ride leaves at 4pm.) Children and Adults welcome. Participants must be at least 7 years old and 4 feet tall. Anyone between 7 and 17 years old must have a parent with them to sign a release form. Cost is $40.00 per person (cash only). Westside Riding School offers a variety of Horseback Riding Lessons Wednesday through Saturday at the Park. To pre-schedule riding lessons at Will Rogers State Historic Park call (310) 904-9846.

Lots of trail work that has been accomplished. The steeper rocky passages have been re-graded and smoothed with soft dirt and the trail is wider and broadly cleared. Switchbacks are easier, less severe and groomed.

One of the admirable qualities about Will Rogers State Historic Park is that it serves a broad cross-section of outdoor enthusiasts. There are a diversity of trails to choose from so that anyone can find his or her level.

One of the best and the easiest treks is up to Inspiration Point, a short loop to an overlook with panoramic views.

Another great trail would be the loop around the first hill and back via the historic horse barn, emerging on the east side of the polo field.

If you can handle some uphill, go for the Backbone Trail.
