Los Liones Gateway Park leads into Topanga State Park

Just off Sunset Blvd and Pacific Coast Highway is Los Liones Gateway Park.

If you're looking for a break from all that L.A. madness, lace up your Tevas, grab a liter of water and your sunblock, and get on the Los Liones Canyon Trail.  Los Liones Gateway Park leads you into Topanga State Park.

Nestled in the cozy and lush Santa Monica Mountains, Topanga State Park is a must-do for any health-minded soul who needs a break from the city. The silence of the place will overwhelm you. When you reach the summit, you will not believe the wonderful views of the Pacific Ocean and Los Angeles Bay. In the distance you can see downtown (on a clear day). Also, even if it's a hot day, you'll catch a nice breeze off the ocean.

Los Liones Canyon Trail: 3.2 miles round trip. Moderate. The trailhead with street parking is about 0.5 miles above Sunset Blvd. at the end of Los Liones Drive. Climbing up and over Pacific Palisades it ends after 1.6 miles and connects to the East Topanga Fire Road which heads north into Topanga State Park.
