Crystal Cove Alliance

Crystal Cove Alliance with motto The Crystal Cove Alliance (CCA) dedicated to the protection and preservation of the Crystal Cove State Park Historic District, its beach, and marine life. CCA places special emphasis on environmental and cultural education, volunteerism, and stewardship.

CCA’s mission is to educate visitors through our programs and to renovate and preserve the Crystal Cove Historic District’s unique cultural and historic features. The Alliance is developing programs to implement the vision of the Historic District’s 2002 Preservation and Public Use Plan. This plan includes overnight accommodations, Community, Arts, Research and Education (CARE) interpretive programs, state parks operations, and other visitor services. The CCA fulfills its mission through park lectures, historic tours, painting classes, exhibitions, exploring tide pools and ocean recreation.

In summer 2005, park visitors will enjoy rotating historical exhibits and may catch glimpses of the marine research center activities. Overnight visitors will be immersed in Crystal Cove’s unique historical setting by staying in cottages decorated with authentic period furnishings and enjoying sunsets at the Cottage Café.

Our program’s impact will extend beyond the Historic District boundaries into all communities and learning environments through state-of-the art video conferencing and wireless technologies.

Program Overview

Through the Cooperating Associations Program, California State Parks has valuable relationships with more than 80 cooperating associations authorized pursuant to Public Resources Code 513, and other sections. The association on this page is one of these official organizations. Like other associations it is dedicated to enhancing the educational and interpretive programs in California State Parks.

Cooperating associations are related to, but independent of the state parks they serve. They are recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as charitable nonprofit organizations (IRS 501 (c) 3).
