Hand painted ceramics were popular from the 1720s to the 1840s. They were usually decorated in a floral motif. Through the 1830s, hand painted wares tended to be dark blue. In the 1830s, blue, orange, green, and pinkish-red paints were developed and became the dominant colors on hand painted works.
