Match Eliminated for RZH Block Grant Program
The matching requirement for the 2002 Resources Bond Act RZH Block Grant Program was eliminated with the passage of AB 1747 (Chapter 240, Statutes of 2003).  The matching requirement still applied for all Park Bond Act of 2000 RZH programs and competitive 2002 Resources Bond Act RZH Urban and Nonurban Programs.


Revised Guidelines
Due to the elimination of the match requirement, the Procedural Guide for the 2002 Resources Bond Act RZH Block Grant Program was revised.

Funds for RZH Block Grants: $154,961,000  Funds for this program were budgeted effective July 1, 2003.

RZH Block Grant funds were allocated to eligible cities, counties, and districts based on population and location within urbanized and heavily urbanized areas.

Eligible Projects

•         Acquisition of park and recreation lands and facilities

•         Development/rehabilitation of park and recreation lands and facilities

•         Special Major Maintenance of park and recreation lands and facilities

•         Innovative Recreation Programs

           Note:  Special Major Maintenance and/or Innovative Recreation Programs did not exceed 30% of grant
