Fort Ross Conservancy
Fort Ross Conservancy (FRC) is a California State Park Cooperating Association and 501c3 nonprofit whose mission is to promote educational and interpretive activities at Fort Ross State Historic Park and Salt Point park. Fort Ross encompasses over 3400 acres on the rugged Sonoma Coast and includes the site of Settlement Ross occupied from 1812 to 1841 by the Russian-American Company. FRC operates a museum gift shop in the Visitor Center at Fort Ross State Historic Park specializing in a wide selection of items relating to the natural and cultural history of California and Russian America. Membership dues and proceeds from the bookstore assist the following: publishing literature about Fort Ross; maintenance and acquisition of park library and display materials; continuing education for park staff, volunteers, and the public; historic, ethnographic and archeological studies; surveys, restoration and furnishing plans of historic buildings; maintenance of the old Russian orchard and the gardens of the Call ranch house; special events at Fort Ross and Salt Point.
Your membership includes a semi-annual hardcopy newsletter filled with articles by local and international historians and experts, monthly e-news, 10% discount in the Fort Ross store, and up-to-date information on upcoming events.
