The Junior Lifeguard Program is centered on teamwork, leadership, and aquatic safety, offering an engaging introduction to safe ocean recreation. Through a combination of instruction and hands-on experience, participants develop essential water safety skills, improve physical fitness, increase environmental awareness, and build respect for themselves and others. The program also includes beach competitions and opportunities to participate in regionals, allowing students to challenge themselves and showcase their progress.
The San Clemente State Beach Junior Lifeguard Program consists of two three-week sessions focused on open-ocean recreation and education, held at San Clemente State Beach in the Calafia Beach area. Sessions run on weekdays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and are open to youth ages 8 to 15. Participants train in a safe, high-energy environment designed to build confidence, develop skills, and create lasting connections.
Spots are limited, and early registration is encouraged.
