The Mission of the California State Parks Lake Tahoe Junior Lifeguard Program is to provide high-quality water safety and environmental education while creating unique recreational opportunities for the youth of California. The Junior Lifeguard Program emphasizes three pillars of development: teamwork, leadership, and aquatic safety. The program is designed to improve young people's physical conditioning, understanding and respect for the environment, and respect for themselves as well as their peers.
