Doe Mill ridge is situated in the Northern Sierra Foothills, at about 1500 ft. elevation.  It is bordered by Little Chico Creek to the north, and Butte Creek to the south.  Though relatively small in area (just over 1200 acres), it provides visitors a close connection with nature, and spectacular views of Butte Creek Canyon and the Sacramento Valley.

Wildlife is plentiful within the park.  Visitors frequently see deer, quail, doves, wild turkeys,squirrels, rabbits, foxes, raccoons and an assortment of snakes and lizards. Less frequently seen, but known denizens of the park include bobcats, bears, and mountain lions.

Weather & Travel Conditions

Weather can be very hot from June through September, with high temps frequently in the 90's to 100+.
It is advised that visitors be sure to have plenty of sunscreen and a hat during the day, and bring light sweaters or jackets for evenings, as temps can drop by 40 degrees or more from daytime highs.
